Different strokes for different folks, eh? I absolutely LOVED both Poisonwood Bible (Kingsolver) and Handmaid's Tale (Atwood). You've got several on this list that were not on the one I did back in 2007. Might have to take a gander at a few of your recommendations!

I actually have Handmaid's Tale and will take your recommendation and a dear friend also recommended the Red Tent. Yeah, I changed it up a bit to add the two genres I read, and attempted to leave some of yours as well.
